A new collaboration between Westcotec Limited, Fisher & Company Engineering Services Ltd and Roadside Technologies has delivered what is believed to be the first portable, battery powered Belisha beacon designed specifically for temporary, off-grid deployments.
Developed within a seven day timescale, the Zebranova unit was engineered to fit under the restricted headroom of a multi-storey car park while providing a highly visible pedestrian crossing solution. The temporary beacon offers a run time of around 7–10 days between battery changes, with options for solar powered recharging to support continuous operation. Designed for rapid deployment, it can be installed by a single user and brought into operation within minutes, providing a flexible option for car parks and other privately managed locations.
Innovation and teamwork have been central to bringing this latest version of our Zebranova from concept to deployment in just one week, demonstrating how industry partners can respond quickly to bespoke site requirements.
